PROFILE/DESCRIPTION

One problem at our school occurs in the stairways. In the United States, the norm for walking down the sidewalk, or an escalator, or stairs is to stay on the right side. Students walk up and down the stairs on the left side when they should be walking on the right, slow climbers block the way for the faster ones and overall it’s just a mess. This causes the stairs to get clogged which leads to lots of pushing and shoving and students being late for class.

One solution would be to create a sign on the ground right before each flight of stairs showing the direction and side in which students should walk. There can be an arrow pointing to the right to suggest the correct direction of travel and text underneath to describe the correct side to walk on.
