PROFILE/DESCRIPTION

TALAVERA

Talavera is a Mexican restaurant located in Berkeley, on Solano Avenue. This restaurant is all about giving an authentic Mexican experience, including attributes such as the atmosphere, ambience, and food. The quality of everything is great, whether that be the food or the service.  Even the name is a reference to traditional Mexican artwork, something I'd like to incorporate in the logo. The interior is colorful and decorated, yet not tacky. It is simply a fun atmosphere, and the kindness of the workers add to that. The outdoor seating is great, with strung up lights creating a nice vibe around the outside. 

 

I think the logo can be improved in every way. When I create a logo for this restaurant I want to convey the feeling of traditional Mexican culture. Since Talavera is a type of mosaic, I plan on including patterns often found in talavera mosaics into my design. I’m hoping their flowy, artistic nature will also convey a happiness that can be found within the restaurant. The patterns from the mosaic will properly display the culture that the restaurant comes from, as well as the restaurant’s sole.

• Very reasonable prices → logo shouldn't appear too fancy
• Variety in choices.
• Takeout or eat in.

Brand Attributes:

• Good Customer Service.
• Consistency → logo should be clean, reliable looking, not messy. 
• Family owned and operated.

Brand Experience:

• A setting with welcoming ambience.
• Traditional, casual, and authentic Mexican food.
• Traditional Talavera artwork heavily incorporated in the restaurant, and obviously in the name.
• Central location in Albany, walkable for many. Very local!
• Outside Seating. 
• Kind workers.
• Colorful atmosphere.
• Happy (restaurant vibe and workers)

PRIORITIES
