PROFILE/DESCRIPTIONThe problem with the Albany high school bathrooms is the vandalism. The most common forms of vandalisms are writings in permanent marker, broken and scratched mirrors, and missing ceiling tiles. All of these things combine to give the bathroom a gross and uncomfortable atmosphere. Things like the mirrors and paper towel dispensers are taken down because these facilities are used for even more forms of vandalism. The bathrooms are also closed for long periods of time because that is somehow deemed a viable solution to the vandalism issue. Closing the bathrooms is an ineffective and disruptive measure that doesn't come close to solving the problem. My poster appeals to the logical side of these vandals and attempts to “intimidate” them into stopping their behavior. I believe appealing to the sympathetic side of the people would not be effective because their actions show that they clearly do not feel bad about their actions.
