Sawdust Carpentry is a company that teaches children basic carpentry skills and woodworking techniques. It is meant to teach young people skills that can be used later in life in a fun and engaging way. The ideal age range is around 5th grade to 18-year-olds. Sawdust is meant to inspire young people and provide them with basic skills that they are interested in while being safe. It is a small business that is based in Ferndale, California. They will hire young people from the community after they have passed a short testing period. One hundred percent of the excess sawdust is donated to a paper-making company nearby.
