PROFILE/DESCRIPTION

Part 1: The Tour de France is a 21 day long cycling stage race across France and multiple other European countries. It has been running since 1903 and it has cemented itself as the single most important race in the world of cycling, acting as a world championship for the best riders in the world. The mission of the race and advertisement is to promote the world’s finest athletes and to increase viewership which will lead to more views on the sponsors of the teams and the overall race.

Part 2: The main county/state I am targeting is Arlington County in Virginia (Zip codes 22205-07), the city of Arlington is often considered as the most fit city in America so people there are more likely to watch the Tour de France, a sporting event. Additionally, as cycling is a more expensive sport, the demographics of the region are relatively well off so they can afford sports like cycling which may improve the reception to the ads.

GOALS

Goals: The goal of these advertisements is to expose people to the intensity, fun and exciting Tour de France which is going to be happening this summer in France. I want to encompass different colors that are involved in the Tour de France (that represent certain catagories and riders) to also show more niche areas that target return viewers too. Hopefully, because of the poster and the message it gives, it will make people feel the intensity and competitiveness of the race as well as giving a shot of adrenaline to make them want to watch the Tour de France.
