PROFILE/DESCRIPTIONThe company I am designing for is a company called GoldieBlox. This company creates toys with engineering based concepts in hopes of increasing the number of women involved in the engineering field. I will be targeting middle to upper class diverse families, with mostly middle aged parents. Generally living in the suburbs, these bus shelter adds will be placed around towns fitting the Nielson Segment Explorer description of "Kids and Cul de Sacs." Launching in 2012, GoldieBlox have gone from being a small Kickstarter powered company to a nationally recognized business, with its most recent success being a 2014 Toy of the Year winner. This company is mostly known for their commercials that have turned into viral videos, and is based out of Oakland, CA.
GOALSHopefully, when people see this poster they will be reminded of the distinct lack of women involved in the engineering field (14% versus 86%). The viewer will want to know more about this problem, as well as wish to help do something about it, which they can do by purchasing/supporting GoldieBlox. The ads will also hopefully spark some sort of inspiration and creativity for the viewer.
