This month, there were two major developments in the status of abortion rights around the world. The United States Supreme Court voted not to block a Texas law that bans most abortions after six weeks, allowing the most restrictive abortion law in the countryto take effect. A week later, Mexico’s Supreme Court declared that having an abortion is not a crime, paving the way for the procedure to be legalized throughout the country.
