GOALS

​I chose to make the editorial graphic contain Ryu from Street Fighter, a popular E-Sports game, and have it contain elements of graduation and money, indicating the scholarships that are discussed in the article for participating in E-Sports professionally. In this way, those who know nothing about video games or E-sports will see the money and the graduation cap and know that aspect, while those who are privy to that info are going to recognize Ryu and later see the money, likely piquing their interests as well.
