PROFILE/DESCRIPTION

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is a Japanese pop artist and model who is known for her bizarre and colorful music and fashion. She not only wears out-of-this-world outfits, she tries to discuss fashion prejudice and media control in her music. Not only is Kyary a leader in the Harajuku fashion district, Kyary has performed around the world in countries such as France, Taiwan, and the US. Due to her fame, she has been chosen to represent Japanese pop culture through various advertisements and partnerships. I attempted to communicate Kyary's statement fashion and professionalism which would appeal to a professional crowd looking for a trustworthy representative for Japan.

GOALS

Kyary can pull off all colors and styles in her stage outfits. In this image, her dress is adorned with pom poms of different color and sizes. Thus, I attempted to express the same playfulness through the choice of text. For her name and title, I used a round serif typeface. For her contact information, I chose Helvetica to contrast with the bubbly text above and appear equally as professional. Kyary's title and information are the same color because I wanted to emphasize her long and difficult name. A darker magenta is used for the lower text in order to stay legible but not too harsh(as black or white would) on the pink background.
