PROFILE/DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this project is to redesign the packaging of a Mixed Chicks product, being their Leave-in Conditioner. Mixed Chicks is a hair product company, based in California. They call themselves a multicultural revolution, making hair products that work for all textures and types of hair. 

GOALS

I want this design to communicate the goals of the brand more clearly. Mixed Chick says their products are meant to appeal to all hair types, and they should work no matter where you're from, but I am not getting that feeling from the current packaging. I also feel that the design, being only huge chunks of text, is unappealing and it could definitely stand out more. It is also not obvious that the product is a leave-in conditioner from a bit of distance.

PRIORITIES

  • make it obvious what the product is when glancing at it
  • make it appeal to many different hair types
  • have it stand out on the shelves more

TARGET AUDIENCE

People wanting to care their for their hair, all hair types and races/ethnicities
