PROFILE/DESCRIPTION

Unicef is a worldwide nonprofit organization that helps to improve conditions for people in developing third world countries. They raise money to bring clean water, food, medical assistance, and education to children in need. Each Halloween schools pass out boxes for children to “trick-or-treat” for money to help other children in need. This campaign was founded in 1950. Unicef has many campaigns similar to Trick-or-Treat for Unicef. For example, the Unicef Tap project which brings clean drinking water to people in need and many more campaigns worldwide. My ads will focus on the Trick-or-Treat campaign so the ad will be up from before Halloween through the first couple days of November. This way, the ad isn’t left unthought about and still hanging there at Christmas time. The ads will be “seasonal.”

GOALS

The goals of these ads is to get people to participate in the Trick-or-Treat campaign. The ads are also meant to build awareness, fundraise for Unicef, help children become more aware, and most of all the spread the campaign. Because this campaign is also promoted in schools, children are able to learn of the value of money and also be aware of the effects they can make on other children. Another goal is to get more people to trick-or-treat for Unicef. Each child in the ad will be based on the percentage of each ethnicity in the community where the ad is located. I chose the Trick-or-treat campaign because it is relatable. Most children go trick-or treating regardless of ethnicity or background. Elementary schools make a pretty big deal out of it and promote children to Trick-or-treat for Unicef. Halloweens is a highlight of childhood and children will remember the experiences. Trick-or-treating is a parent and child event to when the parents see the ad, they will help remind their child to fundraise. When the children se the ad, they’ll see the Halloween costume and “trick-or-treat” with the iconic small orange box. They can easily be reminded and relate it back to class. So while having fun collecting candy, hopefully more people will trick-or-treat for Unicef. Above all, these ads are meant to be fun and for all ages. At the same time, the ads are meant to get more people to fundraise.
